We are thrilled to announce the launch of our new lactation consulting service that combines the power of breastfeeding support with a focus on mental health. At Nicely Counseling Services, we understand that the journey of feeding your little one can sometimes come with challenges and emotional ups and downs. That's why we're here to provide comprehensive care for both you and your baby!

In partnership with MLO Lactation , we are offering a unique approach to lactation support that takes your mental well-being into account every step of the way. Our compassionate IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant) is not only an expert in all things breastfeeding but also trained to provide emotional support during this transformative period. For those who are in need of more therapeutic support, we also have therapists trained in perinatal mental health on staff. Because we believe that a healthy mind and a happy heart go hand in hand. 💕 

A lactation consultation may needed if you or your baby experience:

                   * Painful breastfeeding / Sore nipples               

                   * Slow or no infant weight gain

                   * Trouble latching                                                                   

                   * Gas or fussiness related to feedings

                   * Low milk or insufficient milk supply                

                   * Oversupply or overactive letdown                       

                   * Pumping / Return to work

                   * Weaning

Breastfeeding Support Group

Tuesdays 10 - 11a

Curious about your baby's growth and feeding intake, but don't want to wait for your next visit with the pediatrician? Join us on Tuesdays, starting October 24th, anytime from 10a-11a to check-in with our lactation consultant about your feeding journey.  You’ll be able to weigh your baby, meet other local breastfeeding parents, and can have general questions about infant feeding answered. We can also determine whether a full, more clinical and individualized consult is warranted.

Prenatal Lactation Consult

We’ll review your breast-feeding goals, medical, and prenatal history so you can know what to expect once your baby arrives. A physical exam is also conducted. Please complete intake forms prior to appointment.

Going back to work?  We'll meet to discuss a pumping plan to continue meeting your feeding goals, as well as milk storage.

Initial Lactation Consult

Prenatal Breastfeeding Class

The class will prepare the pregnant parent & partner/ support person for what to expect prenatally and in the early hours, days, and weeks following delivery. Topics will include:

  • the critical first 72 hours

  • latching & positioning

  • strategies to enhance milk production

  • feeding cues & patterns 

  • what to expect in diaper output

  • managing initial engorgement

  • when more help is needed 

  • role of partner/support person

  • strategies for supporting your own mental health & attachment needs

 

By the end of each class, each family will have an individualized feeding and mental wellness plan that meets your unique needs.

Mother Baby Bonding

Follow-up Lactation Consult

Current clients will continue working toward their feeding goals. A physical exam of parent & baby are conducted, and feeding is observed. Pre and post feed weights will be taken.

 Includes an additional 2 weeks of follow up through secure messaging portal.

PERINATAL CONSULTS

Lactation support encompassing the whole perinatal period - before and after birth. In this package, you will receive an in-office prenatal consult & an in-home initial lactation consult.

Services outside of these areas may be available and incur an additional travel fee.

 IBCLCs in private practice are unable to contract directly with most health insurance plans.  However, our clients are often able to receive reimbursement by submitting an itemized superbill to their insurance company. To expedite the process of reimbursement, we collect payment directly from each client and standardly provide a superbill after completion of each service.
